The splendor, tranquility and charming ambience of the Umbrian hills can be yours with a holiday stay at Le Vigne. A former 12th century convent on 15+ acres, Le Vigne has been renovated to exacting modern standards. Conveniently located within twenty minutes of the Franciscan center of Assisi, twenty minutes from Tuscany and ninety minutes from Rome, Le Vigne is an ideal self-catering vacation base. The American owners are happy to share their experiences and Umbrian and Tuscan discoveries with their guests.

Accommodations

Le Vigne is a porzione di colonica (a separate residence and entrance within a larger building) that was divided in the 1700's for family expansion. The fully furnished and screened property comfortably sleeps seven. There are four bedrooms (three doubles, one single) that are air-conditioned (excepting the single) and three bathrooms (two ensuite). All bathrooms have showers (one with tub as well), bidets, blow dryers, curling and flat irons.

There is a spacious and fully equipped eat-in kitchen and large living area.

The villa offers many opportunities to enjoy splendid surroundings. Swim in the oversize azure pool surrounded by an olive grove, play tennis or bocce on lighted clay courts or simply relax in a lounge chair at this hilltop haven and experience the spectacular views.

The historic and charming locales of Cortona, Orvieto, Perugia, Todi, Gubbio, Arezzo, Assisi, Lago Trasimeno, Spoleto, Montepulciano, Montalcino and Pienza are all within easy driving distance for wonderful day trips.

Secluded yet easily accessible, Le Vigne is the perfect setting, providing the tranquility of the countryside but within easy reach of the sights, culture and atmosphere of the surrounding Italian towns and villages.

If making stress-free decisions appeals to you, Le Vigne is a wonderful choice for a vacation holiday. One day, choose to shop the local markets and prepare your own meals with the freshest of Italian ingredients and on another, dine in any of several fine restaurants in the immediate area. Try the nearby pizzeria, visit the produce markets, indulge in wine-tasting luncheons or arrange for a chef to prepare a typical Italian repast.

Le Vigne's owners live on the property and speak English, Italian and Spanish. They will be happy to arrange for as many additional services as desired. From maid service, cooking lessons, Italian or painting classes to golf and tours - hospitality and warmth are the trademarks of a week's stay at Le Vigne.

Additionally, Le Vigne’s seven hundred olive trees provide exceptional olive oil in November each year (see a recent article in FLAVORS, an Atlanta, Georgia food magazine) as well as beautiful vistas of the olive groves.

Rates

High Season
Last two full weeks of April through
the first two full weeks of October.

1 - 4 guests (1 - 2 bedrooms) - 5,200 EUR
Over 4 guests (more than 2 bedrooms) - 6,600 EUR

Note:

• Maximum of two (2) guests per bedroom excluding infants.
• The number of guests over 12 years of age must exceed the number of younger guests.
• Bookings not in high season are discounted by 20%.
• Closed from second week of November through second week of March.

Rates are quoted in EUROS for the apartment for 7 nights. Bookings are Saturday to Saturday.

Rates include linens, towels, central air or heat, firewood, final and mid-week cleaning and towel change.
